Miami Art Basel!!!!

We went to Miami to check out Art Basel (www.artbasel.com). It was the most inspiring trip that I have taken, filled with surprises and disappointment with the art world. But even the disappointments were fuel that I feel will help me in my work, help push me to fight the ugly side of this complicated and divisive thing we call art. I was surprised to see companies like Nike and Scion having a large presence at an Art event. The auto industry has invaded my cherished love, and no one seems to be noticing. The sad thing is that in these desperate times, artists need anything that we can get to stay afloat, be it Scion, Nike or any other willing donor. Regardless of who sponsored Art Basel, it was an amazing event, and I highly recommend every artist, art enthusiast, curator and human to go to this event and support the arts.
